How can I show support of A Call to Confession, Commitment, and Action even though I'm not a youth or young adult?1. Send A Call to Confession, Commitment, and Action to any Church of the Brethren youth and young adults you know, talk with them about why this statement is important, and encourage them to sign on. 2. Support and provide opportunities for emerging youth and young adult leadership within your congregation, district, and denomination. 3. Have conversations with your pastors, congregations, district leaders, and denominational leaders about why this is important and needed in the church. Encourage them to publicly show support. 4. Write your own statement, publish it in the Messenger, send it to church leaders, and perhaps even make it a group effort. 5. Write letters to district and denominational leaders, encouraging them to work for LGBT justice in the Church. 6. Contribute to BMC so we can continue this important work. 7. Attend a Welcoming Church Training and learn how to make your congregation a more welcoming space for LGBT people. 8. Be an advocate for LGBT justice in your family, workplace, and congregation. 9. Attend the Progressive Brethren Summit November 13-15 at Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren, Elizabethtown, PA. 10. Get others to join you in this work!
